About the Position

Preferred Personal Care is looking for compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join their team. There are three vacancies available, with one position located in each of the following communities: Prince Edward County, Belleville, and Brighton.

The successful candidates will provide quality, person-centred support to individuals with disabilities in their homes, assisting with daily activities while providing emotional support and promoting independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emotional and practical support to clients
• Assist clients with daily living activities and personal care needs
• Support clients in maintaining independence and achieving their individual goals
• Develop and follow individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress
• Recognize and respond appropriately to client needs and crisis situations
• Attend team meetings to discuss client progress and support needs
• Communicate and collaborate with other professionals and service providers as required
• Advocate for clients and help ensure their needs and rights are respected

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma/degree or equivalent education (DCS/DEC required)
• Minimum 1 year of supportive care experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, compassionate, and understanding approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s licence
• Reliable personal vehicle with appropriate insurance
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client homes throughout the area
• English language proficiency
