Meet Jacob:

Before connecting with Career Edge, Jacob was unemployed. With a Grade 12 education and limited work experience, he had previously worked in short-term, seasonal jobs, including as a Masonry Labourer and a vineyard worker. Jacob was eager to find stable, year-round employment, particularly in the construction trades.

Career Edge’s Support:

Jacob met with an Employment Counsellor at the Picton Career Edge, where they discussed his career goals. Jacob was introduced to a Pre-Apprenticeship Program being launched at the Picton location. He was one of the first successful participants.

From Training to Employment:

After completing the program, Jacob was matched with a local employer for a 9-week work placement. With his new skills and knowledge, he proved himself and was offered full-time, permanent employment. Jacob has now successfully maintained his job for 12 months.
