Meet Daniel

Daniel relocated to the Quinte region for a fresh start after facing personal challenges, including struggles with mental health, addiction, and the loss of his driver’s license. Despite his skilled labour experience at Steadfast Structures, these obstacles put his career on hold.

How Career Edge Supported Daniel:

When Daniel attended a Career Edge job fair, he connected with Amanda, his Employment Counsellor, who provided hands-on support throughout his journey. From developing his resume to identifying relevant training opportunities, Amanda helped Daniel rebuild his career step by step. While awaiting job offers, Daniel earned First Aid and Working at Heights certifications, all supported by Career Edge.

Breaking Down Barriers:

Daniel’s hard work paid off when he regained his sobriety and his driver’s license. With increased mobility, he was ready to jump back into the workforce. Eileen, our Employer and Community Liaison, worked to connect Daniel with local employers and secured him a placement with a local excavating services company in Quinte West. In addition to job matching, Career Edge helped Daniel with workwear, tools, and transportation to remove any remaining barriers to employment.

The Outcome:

Daniel’s placement led to a full-time General Labourer position after only a few months. His dedication, along with Career Edge’s support, turned a difficult chapter into a successful career restart.
