We are looking for one person to work in the convenience store three days a week starting at the end of June to Labour Day weekend in September.

*Weekends only

27 hours per week. Fridays 8 am to 6 pm, Saturdays 8 am to 6 pm and Sundays 9 am to 4 pm. 

Maybe opportunity for more hours on weekends during May and September if the applicant desires.

Job Summary: The Store clerk is responsible for day to day store operations.  Clerk is to accurately process sales and payments for goods/services and provide receipts to customers.  The Store manager is responsible for the store profits, inventory levels, and cash and inventory shortages.

Duties & Responsibilities:  Duties shall include but not limited to:

  • Implement & enforce established daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean, adequately stocked, organized and well kept
  • Greet, acknowledge and deal directly with customers either by telephone, electronically or face to face
  • Provide pricing and product information
  • Refer customers to the right person to answer queries and deal with any problems
  • Accurately process sales using POS system, scanners or equipment provided to obtain total purchase amount
  • Accept cash, debit cards for payment
  • Provide change for cash payments and issue receipts for payments received
  • Scoop ice cream
  • Balance sales and monitor cash over/short and/or inventory shrinkage daily as per company procedures
  • Stock shelves, set up product displays, and price items
  • Maintain a neat, tidy and orderly work area
  • Communicate and perform all requests made by Manager
  • Communicate any problems with merchandise pricing to the Manager
  • Opening and closing store
  • Assist in security of overall facilities
