Skills Ontario – Summer Camp Counsellor

Skills Canada – Ontario is hiring in the Quinte West area for a full time Summer Camp Counsellor. The Summer Camp Counsellors will facilitate both regional camps in various locations across the province, travelling as needed, as well as virtual sessions while working from home. Training will be provided.

Job Duties: 

• Assisting as needed with summer camp preparation and follow-up
• Co-facilitating camps in various assigned locations across the province, as well as virtual workshops
• Doing inventory of supplies for storage at the end of the camp season
• General office duties

Qualifications:

• Be between 18 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period (as per funding requirements)
• Fluency in English, both oral and written
• Have aptitude and experience in organizing, planning, managing, and delivering projects
• Experience working with youth is an asset
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred
• Must be willing to travel
• Knowledge of computers and of basic software
• Occasional heavy and repetitive lifting involved
• Fluency in French considered an asset
• Preference will be given to candidates that identify as First Nation, Métis or Inuit
• Enhanced Criminal Records Check, as well as Proof of Vaccination against Covid-19 will be required upon hiring

Additional Information:

• Expected start/end date June 27th – August 19^th
• $15.25 an hour, 35 hours a week
