Preferred Personal Care Provision of Personal Services in the comfort of your own home by compassionate caregiver. Available for respite, ADL, Home Care 7/24. “Personal Support Workers’ and/or Developmental Service Workers provide care to person(s) who require personal assistance with activities of daily living. They may also provide additional care as delegated as needed and when it can be performed safely and within Provincial legislation. Provide personal care and related paraprofessional services in accordance with an established plan of care. Provide for the personal needs and comfort of all individuals in their homes or other environments. Typically involves both personal care tasks and incidental activities of daily living, such as housekeeping, meal preparation, socialization and companionship.” These values shared by Ontario Personal Support Workers Associations as indicated in their Statement of Work.

Responsibilities:

  • This position requires weekends/evening shifts/dayshifts
  • Personal Care is provided to those in need in their home, LTC or RH, supportive, physical and psycho-social needs of that person.
  • Personal care is provided trained Personal Support Worker or Developmental Support Worker will require working as a member of a health care team
  • Personal assistance with activities of daily living (ADL) and and incidental activities of daily living (IADL)
  • Housekeeping, meal preparation, socialization and companionship, feeding, lifts and transfers, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, and toileting.
  • Can assist with medication and medication reminders to person(s) in accordance with established employer or government policy. see: CNO Guidelines for UCP.
  • Light housekeeping duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, washing dishes, and laundry.
  • Additional duties as warranted
  • Continuously observe person(s) and their environments

Skills and Requirements:

  • Must report and document unsafe conditions, behavioral, physical, and / or cognitive changes to an appropriate supervisor; communicate and demonstrate basic information to person(s)
  • Must complete and maintain accurate related records and documentation such as communication books and progress notes.
  • Requirements: Canadian Citizen, located with the geographic region of service, ability to commute to client’s homes (up to 40 km) often in rural areas. Travel is required.
  • Interviews will require access to a computer for video conference, that has both video and audio functions. Testing will be performed regarding Knowledge and Processes.
  • All vaccinations are mandatory for these roles and ability to obtain a clean CPIC-Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Possess own transportation to get to local clients/care facilities.

Salary: From $18.50 per hour, plus earn bonuses 1 up to 5% of net, and travel time pay between clients.

Schedules available: Day shift, Evening shift, Holidays, Night Shifts, Weekend availability.
