Landscape Technician

A locally owned landscape business located in Carrying Place, providing design, build and maintenance services in Quinte West, Prince Edward County and surrounding areas since 2002, is looking to hire a FT Seasonal Landscape Technician.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Build and maintain gardens, parks and other outdoor landscapes
• Design and build stone garden walls, rock gardens, retaining walls, poured concrete, interlocking brick, Fieldstone paths, Ornamental ponds, fountains and waterfalls, install automated irrigation system

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of relevant working experience, OSSD or equivalent
• Write specifications, read and interpret blueprints, identify plants
• Preferred one of the following – Horticulturist Trade Certification; Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) Certification; Landscape Gardener Trade Certification
• Own vehicle, valid driver’s license
• Previous experience in operating heavy equipment, “D” license an asset, experience operating heavy truck with GVWR 4,500 kg or higher
• Experience in operating motorized equipment such as: compactors, cut of saws, compact loader/backhoe, skid steer, mini excavator

Additional Information

• Criminal Record Check and Clean Driver Abstract must be provided upon offer of employment
• FT Seasonal, weekdays and weekends dependent on projects assigned
• Must have safety work boots, safety gloves, masks
• $16.00 to $19.00/hr dependent on experience, 40 to 50 hours per week
