The Waring House is seeking to fill a Hostess position, with a shift that serves the lunch or supper hour.

Responsibilities as a Host/Hostess:

  • Greet all guests with a warm welcome.
  • Perform COVID-19 screening as required by current Public Health Legislation.
  • Providing guest service over the phone i.e. making reservations, answering questions, providing information about what the menu offers.
  • Handle in person guest inquiries and reservation requests.
  • Manage restaurant flow by delegating tables equally.
  • Manage wait list and updating the status of tables during service.


  • Able to work in standing position for extended periods of time.
  • Have to be punctual, organized, tidy and disciplined in managing reservations/walk-in guests.
  • Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.
  • Team-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Adaptable and quick learner.
  • Neat professional appearance.
  • Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • An asset is prior experience in a fine dining establishment, but is not required – will train on job.

This hostess position serves over the lunch or supper hours daily.

Shifts especially needed are evenings Wednesday to Saturday, but negotiable.

Minimum wage is: $14.35/hour, negoitable

COVID-19 considerations:
The Waring House has strict COVID protocols to ensure the safety of staff and customers. Rapid COVID testing is offered twice weekly to all employees. Employees are encouraged to have double COVID vaccination.
