Grounds Keeper

A locally owned landscape business located in Carrying Place, providing design, build and maintenance services in Quinte West, Prince Edward County and surrounding areas since 2002, is looking to hire a FT Seasonal Grounds Keeper.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Write specifications
• Survey and assess designated sites
• Weed, prune and trim trees and plants, plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees
• Lay sod or seed, cut grass, cart and spread topsoil and other materials
• Assist with landscape constructions
• Apply fertilizers, water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
• Write daily basic progress reports
• Rake and collect refuse
• Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment

Qualifications

• 2 – 3 years of relevant working experience, OSSD or equivalent
• Knowledge and comfort in operating weed trimmer/edger, tractor, small engine equipment, pick-up truck, chain saw, automated irrigation system, tractor mower
• Own vehicle, valid driver’s license
• Experience operating a pick up truck and trailer

Additional Information

• Criminal Record Check and Clean Driver Abstract must be provided upon offer of employment
• FT Seasonal, weekdays and weekends dependent on projects assigned
• Must have safety work boots, safety gloves, masks
• Travel expenses paid by employer
• $15.50 – $18.00/hr dependent on experience, 40 hours per week
