Adult Literacy Coach – Canada Summer Job Program

Are you heading towards future employment or education in Human Services and would like to learn how to support adult learners? Do you enjoy working with a team of creative and passionate individuals and feel you have skills and ideas to add to the mix? Community Learning Alternatives is seeking to employ 2 summer students in Adult Literacy Coach positions through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

Job Duties: 

  • Work with adult learners to improve their skills for life, education, and employment in one-to-one and small group settings (virtual and in-person)


  • Secondary School (Preferred)
  • Excellent skills in interpersonal communication, writing, mathematics, and digital literacy
  • Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences

Additional Information:

  • $16.00 per hour
  • 2 positions available – one in Belleville office and one in Trenton office
  • Monday to Friday – 8-hour shifts
  • Contract length: 8 weeks
  • On-site parking
  • The position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant which specifies that the applicants must be between the ages of 15-30 and a permanent Canadian resident, citizen, or refugee
