Our Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for the Water Services Supervisor position. The Water Services Supervisor reports to the Director of Water and Wastewater and is responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all Water Treatment Facilities and Distribution Systems within the County of Prince Edward ensuring both quantity and quality service in meeting all County and Provincial policies and regulations.

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Required; Ontario Ministry of the Environment Certificates of Competency in the following:Class III Water Treatment Class II Water Distribution
  • Preferred; Ontario Ministry of the Environment Certificates of Competency in the following:
    Class II Wastewater Treatment Class II Wastewater Collection
  • 3-5 years progressive and relevant work experience in a supervisory role in water/sanitary plant and related systems operations and maintenance
  • Preferred supervisory experience in a unionized environment
  • Experience managing assets and equipment utilizing a computerized maintenance management system
  • Experience managing, updating and maintaining distribution and collection operating systems utilizing SCADA systems, GIS related mapping and remote monitoring equipment
  • Capable of identifying problems and troubleshooting with the ability to make good judgements and sound decisions
  • Ability to keep clear and detailed records both electronically and written to support compliance requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills with the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment at all times
  • Strong leadership and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Detailed knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, SCADA systems, and other related operating database applications
  • A valid ‘G’ driver’s licence

 

The salary range for this full-time permanent position is $72,178 to $87,701 per annum, as per Band 5 of the Non-Union By-Law.
