The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is made up of a team of experts who understand local communities and assess every property in Ontario. What we do provides the very foundation that municipalities use to base the property taxes needed to pay for the services we use every day. Learn more >

 

Here’s what you will do as part of the team:

  • Provide assistance with general office administration and the collection, maintenance and verification of property assessment data;
  • Develop internal spreadsheets to organize and track the status of building permits and various work objects;
  • Assist with minor building permit reviews and the retrieval of property assessment data via GIS and aerial photography;
  • Input and verify property assessment data and ensure data accuracy in internal databases;
  • Participate in property inspections and refer all discrepancies and general questions from the public to the Manager;

 

Here’s what you will need to succeed:

  • Enrollment in post-secondary education in: Real Property Administration, Urban Planning, Geography, Business, Economics, Mathematics or related field, with confirmed return to school in September 2020;
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong organization and time management skills in order to assist branch with concurrent priorities;
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as in a team environment and;
  • A valid G2 or G Ontario driver’s license;

 

Nice to have:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
