Community Living Prince Edward is looking for part-time employees to start immediately.

 

Are you currently enrolled, or a graduate of the following?

  • Developmental Service Worker
  • Child and Youth Worker
  • Social Service Worker
  • Community Justice Service Worker
  • Behavioural Science Tech
  • PSWs with an interest in/experience working with people with disabilities

 

Do you enjoy working with people with an intellectual disability in a variety of residential and community settings,  and value that people’s rights and choices come first?  Do you enjoy finding out what is important for people and supporting people to make that happen utilizing individualized approaches? Role includes: 

  • Assisting with personal hygiene supports as required.
  • Assisting the people we support with preparing meals and general household duties
  • Providing engaging activities within the persons home – some  activities outside of the home are restricted in some cases due to the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Interacting with people we serve in a manner that is meaningful to them.
  • It is imperative that the candidates understand that working in Developmental Services is considered an essential service.  As such, we have a variety of COVID-19 related protocols around, hand washing, screening, physical distancing, mask wearing, heightened disinfecting, that all team members MUST adhere to at all times.

 

Key Skills:

  • Team player
  • Ability to work with people we serve with a variety of support needs, medical, behavioral , physical support needs, and some people we serve do not use words to communicate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent technical skills, as all our communication and document strategies are either digital now, or will become digital in the near future.
  • Able to work independently when required
  • Able to multi-task
  • Self-starter and highly motivated
