Supervisor:                     Manager of Nursing Services

Hours of Work:              Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends

Salary Range:                 $26.11 to $29.48 per hour (as per the CUPE Collective Agreement / inclusive of $3.00 PSW wage enhancement) Recognition for previous related experience

Closing Date:  April 30, 2024

 

The John M. Parrott Centre is a fully accredited state-of-the-art, 168 bed long term care home, owned and operated by the County of Lennox and Addington, in the Town of Greater Napanee.  The John M. Parrott Centre offers free parking, safe work environment and upgraded technology.  We are currently seeking highly motivated and energetic Personal Support Workers to join the community of The John M. Parrott Centre.

 

Employee Signing Bonus:  New applicants who meet eligibility requirements will receive a signing bonus

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• Personal Support Worker Certificate or recognized equivalent, in accordance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act

• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills

• Satisfactory attendance record, subject to the requirements of the Ontario Human Rights Code

 

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

• Ability to work a variety of shifts as well as be available for call-in

• Provide and/or support all activities of daily living for residents

• Provide cognitive, social and/or emotional support to residents

• Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with residents and peers

• Ability to provide resident centered care to all residents residing within the home

 

REGULATED SAFETY ACTIVITIES:

• Must adhere to all service area / The John M. Parrott Centre policies and procedures as outlined in WHMIS, Infection Control, Fire & Safety, other manuals and legislation

• Responsible to adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety procedures of the Act and the Home

• Utilize proper body mechanics and transfer techniques in order to carry out safe lifts and/or transfers

 

Employees must provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID -19 as well as proof of a third shot – booster (i.e. received the total number of required doses of vaccine approved by Health Canada) or an approved exemption for preclusion from immunization as a condition of employment.
