We are a growing non-profit organization serving more than 1,400 girls and young women in Frontenac, Lennox and Addington, Hastings and Prince Edward Counties each year. We are currently accepting applications for an H&PE Program Coordinator. This is a contract position. The successful candidate will work 25 hours weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to meet our program plan commitments in Hastings and Prince Edward counties. Successful completion of Girls Inc. program training and program delivery is likely to lead to regular/ongoing employment with Girls Inc.


Under the supervision of the Program Director, the successful candidate will facilitate in-school and after school Girls Ed Programs. The Program Coordinator will provide care and support to program participants in both one-to-one and large group situations, will assist in the preparation and facilitation of workshops, and will plan and prepare snacks with participants. The Program Coordinator will also liaise with participant families and will network with community partners to implement new school-based programs defined in our program delivery plan.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-secondary diploma in Child and Youth Work, Recreation Leadership, Social Service Worker. Behaviour Science, or a related field is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of a CPIC including vulnerable sector check
  • An understanding of the distinct needs of girls
  • Candidates must be active and energetic
  • Prior experience working with children in a group environment is an asset
  • CPR and First Aid Certification is an asset
  • A valid driver’s licence and a car are required
