Description

The Waring House Inn & Restaurant in Picton is seeking 2-3 friendly and easy going individuals to work at the Front Desk. At the Front Desk, you will be the “face” of the company for all visitors and are responsible for a welcoming first impression.

Job Duties:

  • Greet guests and welcome them into the office
  • Answer questions, address complaints and give suitable information by actively listening and comprehending visitor requests
  • Answer all incoming calls and redirect them to the appropriate person or keep and distribute messages
  • Book reservations for guest rooms, dining room and culinary courses
  • Accept and sign the delivery of letters, packages etc. and distribute them either personally or through an interoffice dispatching system
  • Check e-mails, sort them by priority and forward them to the appropriate recipients
  • Keep front desk tidy and presentable with all necessary material (pens, forms, paper etc.)
  • Take up other duties as assigned (travel arrangements, appointment schedules etc.)
  • Assist guests with any issues during their stay (extra linens, tv issues, etc.)
  • Light duty cleaning including dusting and vacuuming

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as front desk representative or agent or relevant position
  • Familiarity with the use office equipment (e.g. fax, printer etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of customer service, office management and basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Proficient in English (oral and written)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel and Word)
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Strong at multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be available to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Previous experience in the hotel industry an asset but not a requirement

Additional Information:

  • Position to start as soon as possible
  • 2-3 positions available
  • Close to full-time hours in the high season, and part-time in the low season
