Three Hills Engineering Ltd. is a small firm that primarily services the Quinte Region of Ontario, however we work often with clients from Kingston to Toronto. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join us as we continue to expand and increase our services. We are looking for a licensed Architect or Experienced Architectural Technologist who is interested in a long-term, career building opportunity. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design and documentation of all building types. Currently our primary architectural work is commercial/industrial, but we are willing and beginning to expand into other areas. We are looking to grow our architectural services, in both frequency of projects and the scope of the design work. The selected candidate will be the company’s lead designer for all architectural work we perform. They will be expected to develop and expand the company’s architectural services. If the selected candidate has an OAA licence, a subsidiary architecture firm may be established. This is an ideal position for someone who has the drive and motivation to help create their dream job.

 

Qualifications include:

  • 5-10 years of experience
  • Experience in both project management and design
  • Driven and self motivated - candidates must be able to manage projects with minimal supervision, coordinate and work directly with clients
  • Thorough knowledge of Ontario Building Code
  • Experience in AutoCAD design software

Assets:

  • Ontario Architect Licence
  • Knowledge of Revit preferred
  • Experience in all types of construction
  • Retail/commercial and industrial/office experience
  • Strong visual and graphic communication skills
  • Experience in Sketchup

Duties include:

  • Meet with clients, create proposals and work scope.
  • Attend meetings to discuss projects with clients, governing bodies and other concerned parties.
  • Conducting site visit, measurements, and inspections.
  • Review building code and standards as they relate to a given project.
  • Completion of architectural drawings.
  • Use of AutoCAD software as part of the design process.
  • Develop and manage client relationships.
  • Lead the continued development of the architectural in-house expertise and methodologies.
