Hillier Creek Estates is looking for an individual to fill the vacancy of Bookkeeper and Event Planner.
An efficient Bookkeeper and Administration can perform all the administrative tasks of a small business within the context of a winery operating in Ontario.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following skills are required to perform the duties and responsibilities for the position of Bookkeeping and Administration.
a. Demonstrating effective verbal and written communications;
b. Possessing a high degree of administrative/bookkeeping skills including:
i. Sage 50 Accounting: including Payroll, Accounts Payable and Receivable, cash flow and possesses a full understanding of bookkeeping up to and including trial balance;
ii. Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
iii. Accurately completes reports and returns for the Governments of Canada, Province of Ontario and the Municipality of the County of Prince Edward including but not limited to payroll source deductions, HST, WSIB, LCBO, Excise and all other tax remittances etc.
iv. Accurately obtaining and providing information regarding weddings, tours or events;
c. Managing day-to-day phone and email inquiries and assisting with the implementation of special events;
d. Fostering teamwork among the staff by offering feedback, and is skillful at providing clarity and problem solving, reaching resolution to complaints from customers within the scope of responsibilities;
e. Maintaining professionalism; and
f. Is self-motivated, has a high energy level and is capable of multi-tasking.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy environment by:
a. Assisting with establishing, complying, and enforcing as necessary, the Provincial Health and Safety standards and regulations;
b. Assist with developing and implementing contingency plans i.e. power outage, fire, heart attack, anaphylactic shock etc.;
Professional Development and updates job knowledge by:
a. Participating in educational opportunities;
b. Reading professional publications;
c. Maintaining personal networks;
d. Enhances the winery experience by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and
e. Exploring opportunities to add value to the job.
